This is a lovely framed autograph of one of the most well known names in American history, Ulysses S. Grant. This example is signed as U. S. Grant Maj. Gen. U. S. A., indicating that he attained the rank of Major General, a rank he only held from July 1863 until March 1864, a period of only 8 months, making this an extremely scarce wartime autograph of Grant. The frame measures roughly 18 x 20 and includes two period
